We are now holding VE testing sessions for new Amateurs as well as upgrades at every club meeting!
You must obtain your FRN from the FCC before the testing session. You can get that here: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do
In order to test please bring at least one form of picture ID and if you are upgrading be sure to bring your current license AND a COPY of your current license to be forwarded to ARRL. Testing fee this year is $15. Please make a check or money order payable to “ARRL VEC”
The FCC now charges a separate fee of $35 for new licenses. Once ARRL processes your test, you will get an email directly from the FCC with information on how to pay this new fee.
If you plan on testing, please send an email to kf5dhy@kf5dhy.org and let me know so I can be certain there will be enough VE’s present at the meeting.
